Have your mail organized

Don’t you just hate it when your emails flooded with spam, and its hiding your email because there so much of it. Well here are a few tips for you to organize your mail. I do this and it helps me control my mail much much better. Your mail will look cleaner and neater.

1. Mark your Email as Spam

This one is really easy, whenever some spam comes into your inbox, just mark it as spam. For mac users all you need to do is press the junk button. This will help you seperate your spam away from the mail that you need. It’s nice as well because it will even go into a sepearte folder for you.

2. Clear your inbox

I got this idea from Glenn Wolsey. Ever sense this I have been using it, and it works a lot. It’s real simple, everynight before you go to bed, double check your email. After you have done that, delete all of them. It’s really nice, I like it because when i check my email the next day I’m not oveblown by email from the past. It looks nice and neat, and I really like it.

3. Set your preferences

What I like to do is set my preferences for my mailboxes. For example, my Junk box I have it set up to be deleted after one week old. This helps me because it doesn’t delete right away so I get a chance to look over it, make sure I am not missing it. Plus it helps me keep the size of my junk down. Another preference is how often to check your mail. My suggestion is to have it check every 5 - 10 minutes. That way you can reply to your mail faster, and if you don’t need it anymore you can delete it.

4. Use the smart folders

I use this for certain people. There may be people or a business that has a higer priority than other people. I use this option for family and really close friends. I want to respond to them first, plus I enjoy reading there email. This can be important if your expecting bills or very urgent messages.

5. Use regular mail folders.

This is another tip that Glenn Wolsey gave that I liked. Set regular folders, use it to store important email, email that you want to read later or just for whatever preference you like.
